Seems To Me

it seems to me
life should be easier
but if it were
would we be so poetic
so artful and colorful
it seems to me
that without this
struggle we call life
all the things that
make us who we are
would be absent
no personalities
no character
no you or me
no stories to tell
without the struggle
there would be no life
so enjoy the struggle
embrace the journey
and live life



** Today, while looking through a journal, I found this. I wrote this poem about twelve years ago and had it published in a "coffee table" poetry book collection.

I have lived through things I thought I was never capable of, and Im so much less afraid of feelings than I used to be. The process, the journey, of being wounded, awakens us to realize our true strengths..it rearranges our values, and the top priority is never what you thought it would be. Life, when it comes down to it, is never about power or perfection, it all comes down to LOVE...

..Realizing that we are vulnerable and our time here with each other is limited, we become more free to live more passionately, live more full lives, than we ever have before...We discover whats worth fighting for and who we REALLY are....our REAL strength lies buried at the very depths of any wound we have ever SURVIVED..........I'm so glad I survived all my wounds to finally experience the life I always knew I deserved!
